it's raining hard today.
as it has been doing, for a few days now.
this weather- gloomy, inconvenient, wet, constant, and did i mention, wet, seems so appropriate for this time.
you see, a friend of mine, passed away the other day, at only thirty-two years young.
leaving behind a husband, three young boys, and a newborn baby girl.
a baby girl she had been waiting for all her life.
this unfortunate passing, has shaken a lot of us to the core, left us heartbroken, deeply distressed and just down right low-spirited.
as all losses of someone in your life does, it makes you reevaluate your own life..
it makes you realize that all your "problems", aren't really problems at all.
it makes you want to hug your loved ones even more, and tighter.
it makes you never want to let your loved ones go without them knowing how much you love and appreciate them.
it makes you open your eyes to what's really important in life.
it makes me recognize that yes, my life here on earth is temporary,
and that i need to live it to the fullest,
because i am not guaranteed forever.
it's too bad something like this has to happen, for us to finally realize this.
my friend, anna, who took this world by a storm, with her new yaarker accent and passion for life, that was so contagious (even through the internet), will be greatly missed.
her quick and smart remarks, her no nonsense advice, her raw and funny jokes, her status updates on facebooks that made me smile, her sincere love and care for her family- her children especially, will never be forgotten.
there is so much to celebrate about anna's life.
so much to remember about this woman.
so much to hold, near and dear to our hearts.
i am grateful for the short period of time she was put in my life.
she did nothing, but enrich it, in more ways than one.
even though our friendship was not the most conventional,
it still was still a friendship,
a sisterhood.
and for that,
i am truly thankful.
