sounds of wooden trains on wooden tracks, lightening mcqueen zooming through the living room, big brother having a full on conversation with thomas and james, little brother making animal noises and saying the few words he can say, brothers singing together, giggling together, and fighting over toys together.
these are just a few things she hears throughout her day with her boys.
people always ask her "what do you do all day with them?"
as if it's a bad thing that they are together ALL DAY.
she responds back with a question, "you mean, what do i get to do with them all day?
really, she sees it as a blessing that she gets to stay at home and be with her boys. it may not work for some. she completely understands.
but it works for her.
some may think she is not "working" while she stays home and takes care of her boys. some may think that's why she has energy to do so many things in and outside of the home- because she is not tired from working outside her home.
how they may think she is not tired, is beyond her comprehension.
what she would like for them to know- the people who are always asking her these meaningless questions and assuming that all she does is sit on the couch, eat bon-bons all day, and watch oprah, because she is home with her kids, is that she is completely and utterly blessed to be able to make this decision to stay home with her kids. and that just because she is not getting paid anything monetary to take care of her kids, doesn't mean she doesn't "work". as a matter of fact, she is getting paid way more in other areas in her life, in ways that are far more rewarding than a raise or promotion up the corporate ladder.
she thinks it's the mothers out there who have to work outside the home and come home to tend to their children, who are the champs.
just thinking about that makes her tired.
but she would have it no other way for herself.
because it works for her.
