posse organization

we have a lot of books here.
i mean, a lot.
i can probably start my own children's library if i wanted.

some books bought.
some books given as gifts.
many, many, hand me down books.

i love that the boys love to "read".
i love that big brother would much rather chose
a book over a toy, at the store.
i love that we can spend all morning,
getting lost in these books.

what i don't love is the chaos of books everywhere.
and i mean, everywhere.

and i don't like the fact that i'm usually the one
putting all these books away.

that is until i channelled the inner librarian in me,
and came up with this brilliant idea.
(ok, it's not that brilliant, but you know what i'm saying ,right?)

the posse and i got to work
and this is what we came up with.

colored stickers placed on the spine of all the books.
red for the smaller books.
yellow for the medium to large sized books.
and blue for the workbooks and colorings books...and so forth.



and each colored sticker is assigned a box,
so the boys know where each book belongs.





now each book has a home and the boys can take ownership of them,
and learn how to clean up after themselves.
i have bins of books everywhere in the house now..all organized.

it's been a few days now and what do you know,
they have caught on, and have been picking up after themselves.

let's hope this lasts!
